Vince Staples is getting a lot of attention for his tweets related to Eminem‘s Trump freestyle, but he’s also shared some new bars of his own. The Long Beach rapper debuted a remix of YBN Nahmir’s buzzing single “Rubbin Off The Paint,” on his S E A B S show on Beats 1 Radio Friday, and its now made its way online. Vince finds a comfortable pocket on the ethereal beat, bringing a West Coast flare to the Birmingham, AL’s viral hit.
We recently heard none other than Cash Me Outside girl Bhad Babie deliver her take on the instrumental. We will surely hear a few more rappers deliver their own remixes in the near future.
Vince has been in the news regarding a joke he made about Eminem’s recent BET freestyle, calling it trash. In a series of tweets, he clarified the context of his comment. “The mnm statement was all in good fun I like him & Kim. @Pitchfork took it out of context because they thirsty,” he said. “Lemme get these jokes off. And yall not about to sit here and try to convince me the Donald the bitch line had y’all out y’all seat shut up. How we gonna clown Xtentacion for rapping like a sorcerer on XXL but let M go full assasins creed & then deny me the right to my jokes. Me not being able to make jokes about mnm is white supremacy @pitchfork don’t make me call Cornell West. Somebody must have emailed yall mad huh?”
